Hi,

I've been considering selling some of my Wyndham points timeshares and watching listings for a dollar go unsold on Ebay. Is there still a place where people will actually pay money for resale points?

Robert

Seems they will pay a $1 if you cover the transfer costs.

I wouldn't expect more than that, if you find someone.

On Ebay the lower MF resorts command a slight premium, a few hundred dollars.

Best to be a buyer, the program is still very good.

There are some resorts that go for "more than a dollar" Some examples are: bonnet creek, smokey mountains, grand desert, myrtle beach seawatch.

Ebay completed listings is a good place to check prices.

ebay is a bargain-hunter's paradise. You *might* be able to find someone who will give you a few dollars for one. But, you need to find a marketplace where (a) there are people who know they want to buy a timeshare but (b) do not know enough to find TUG, ebay, etc.

That's probably not a wide window.

On Ebay folks seem willing to pay between .25 to .75 cents per point total cost to buy Wyndham Points. At least for the desirable properties.

Several recent examples.

Las Vegas 220k points $570 plus $750 to close and transfer
Myrtle Beach 300k points $255 puus $750
San Francisco 369k points $2350 plus $685
Bonnet Creek 808k points $3500 plus $700
Branson 300k points $297 plus $800
Sieverville 154k points $1 plus $800
Smoky 168k points $504 no closing costs
Las vegas 210k points $535 no closing costs

Im told that Red Week gets folks willing to pay more. You could also list with a timeshare broker, but of course they would want a commission.

A word of warning...there are plenty of companies that will tell you what you want to hear, (we have buyers willing to pay 10 cents a point or more for your timeshare) but these are usually scams that will just take your money and run

Even FREE isn't really free...

Remember too that Wyndham now charges $299 (per deed) to process an ownership transfer. So even if you give the points ownership away for "free", "free" is still going to cost someone (either you or the recipient) a minimum of $299 to establish the privilege of inheriting the annual maintenance fee obligations...
