Do the Wyndham resorts have [DVD players in them? ]

Every one that I have been to has one in the main living room. I don't think that any of them have had DVD players in the bedrooms, though. We bring small ones for the kids' rooms.

Check how? Just call the number listed in the directory and ask whoever answers the phone?

I don't see anything listed in the directory about whether there are DVD players in the room.

I would see if I could find a number for the individual resort. You can probably get it by Googling the resort you are interested in. I've never had a problem getting ahold of an individual resort. :)

Go to the TUG Resort Databases, click on TIMESHARE RESORTS RATINGS AND REVIEWS, put the name of the resort in the box, and search for it. When you get to the resort page you will find the resort phone number, or website url, or both. Call, ask for the front desk, and ask about the DVD players.

That was a better suggestion that mine Denise. :D

I get lucky once in awhile! ;)

I do use the reviews quite a bit, I'd just never thought of using them to find the phone number. Usually I don't have questions of a resort until after we've booked, and then I have the confirmation with the telephone number on it. I do remember that I did have a question a few years back when I was trying to find a resort in Orlando that would allow my then 19 year old dd to check in. I remember finding the telephone numbers easily, but don't remember where. It might have been either on the Reviews, or it could have even been on the RCI website when I was looking at the reviews.

the resorts phone numbers are on the website. Each resort has their own page

And if she exchanged in, the phone number is on the exchange confirmation.

We had tons of rain when we stayed at Royal Vista this past July so we rented DVD's at Redbox inside the new Publix (new since our last visit). If you don't bring your own DVD's...redbox is just a suggestion for you :)

Redbox is who we use too. We haven't been to a resort that hasn't has a DVD player yet. It may be more of a standard piece in the units now.

We will be staying 2 days at Cypress Palms and 5 days at Bonnet Creek and I called them both. They said they both have dvd players in the living room.

We use Redbox a lot when we are in Orlando but this time I actually have some dvd movies we will be bringing with us.

Nearly all wyndhams have a DVD player. At least all of the 15 that I have stayed at in the past year or so. I think some of the older resorts and/or resorts who have not had a recent updating would be the only ones who do not have a DVD player in the unit.

We stayed earlier this month at Glacier Canyon, they had a Blu-Ray player in the unit, it was a standard one-bedroom. Some of the Wyndham also offer free (or really cheap, about a buck) DVD rentals, although Tamarack, which is managed by Festiva, has a machine, like RedBox, that is quite a bit more. When Tamarack was managed by Wyndham, they had free VHS movies.

If TV's have HDMI...

You could just bring your chromecast dongle. :)

Basically, it's a device that allows you to stream content from any of your mobile devices over wifi to your HDTV. Runs about $35 and plugs into the TV's HDMI port. This presumes you have wifi and a wifi enabled device capable of streaming content (ipad, iphone, android, etc.) and services (netflix, amazon prime, hulu, etc.)

I have something similar. A ROKU. It was about $85 and I use it to watch my Amazon Prime and Netflix stuff on my main living room TV.

We tried to use it at a Disney resort one time but it wouldn't work because you have to be able to accept the terms of the internet use through the device for the internet to work.

I have yet to find a resort with fast enough wifi in order to support streaming. I sure hope that gets that improved in the near future. That would open up a lot of options including just connecting your laptop to the TV via an HDMI cable for streaming video. Our wifi at Royal Vista last Jan/Feb was particularly troublesome. BC was better in Building 4, but I don't think it was quite fast enough for reliable streaming.
