What is the difference & how far away are they from each other? Is Divi Village on the ocean?

Divi Village is a pretty generic term. There are actually 4 Divi properties within a walk of each other. There's Divi Golf & Beach Resort (where we own), Divi Dutch Village, Divi Tamarin, and Divi All Inclusive. The last 2 are on the water.

We love our Golf & Beach Resort unit. Go back almost every year. We can also use any of the restaurants and pools at all of the Divi Resorts. The grounds are well maintained. The pools are clean. And many of the units have been refreshed to get a high Interval International rating.

There's also shuttles to take you from one resort to another.

When on the overall Caribbean forum, it is always useful to indicate which island you are referencing. I assume in this case you are interested specifically in Aruba, but Divi Resorts also has locations on four other islands, one each in Barbados and Bonaire, and two each in the USVI and St Maarten. As with any travel forum, the more information you provide, the better the quality and accuracy of the responses.

I think the OP is trying to compare two Aruba resorts:

4988 Divi Village
6881 Divi Village Golf and Beach Resort

I have stayed at one of them (not sure which one!) and the RCI directory has the same pictures for the resorts.

I found a labeled resort map: https://www.atimeshare.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/DiviArubaResortMap.jpg

When I was digging around online it was noted that 4988 is the older resort, and that 6881 has washers/dryers.

The resort website list units as "one bedroom" and "golf villa one bedroom" which helps a lot. https://www.diviresorts.com/village-golf-suites.htm

Enjoy the resort! You can walk to one of the most beautiful stretches of sand in the world (in my humble opinion).

I'm not sure that's quite right. I'm pretty sure there are 2 Divi resorts on Barbados. I stayed in the older one a few years ago. I also stayed at Divi's Little Bay on St. Maarten. Not aware of another Divi resort there.

BUT, I just looked at Divi's website and it appears their resort compliment has changed. I only see Southwinds on Barbados. Which tells me they sold off the one we stayed at (wish I could remember it's name). And, while there was only Little Bay in St. Maarten when we were there it appears they will be opening another called Oceans in February. In fact they are opening an Oceans on St. Croix as well. Not sure either Oceans is actually a separate resort. It looks like they are new buildings on the same property with a higher level of luxury

I originally was also going to say that there were two on Barbados and one on Sint Maarten, but thought that I remembered one of the Divi locations on Barbados had been sold. So I checked the website before posting and confirmed that my memory was correct. Like you, I was also surprised to learn there were two resorts on Sint Maarten, since I was only familiar with Divi Little Bay.

We travel to Sint Maarten regularly and you are correct that the "second" resort on SXM is technically a "resort within a resort". The Oceans brand will be their new luxury, high-end, all-inclusive resort. It launches shortly at Divi Little Bay and will launch in St. Croix once the resort there relaunches.

In any case, my main point to the OP was to preferably make reference to the island when posting in the Caribbean forums, since several brands have multiple locations on more than one island. It makes it easier for those replying to be clear about the resort in which they are interested and that improves the chances of a more accurate response.

Was it St James ? I recall there being 2 Divi resorts on Barbados as well.

Yes, that was the name! It was purchased around 1993 by Almond Resorts and was refurbished and became the Almond Beach Club. We stayed there on our first visit to Barbados in January 1994. It is now called The Club, since Almond Resorts went bankrupt about 10 years ago. There was also the Divi Heritage Beach Club on the north side, but it was always owner-occupied condos, I believe. The famous Sandy Lane Hotel and Beach Club was on the south side. It was a lovely location right on Payne's Bay.
