I am totally confused. In Feb we go digital. Is that the same as H D? If we have cable, will all the programs come in H D also? Comcast is saying that soon everything will be H D and we will need their convertor box. Otherwise we will not be able to get anything, as the requirement to go digital will not allow for H D. Do I sound confused? I am.

Digital and HD are not the same. A TV station can broadcast in all digital but still be showing shows in standard definition. In fact, many are still doing this.

HD is High Definition...superior picture quality. Digital is just the method of transmitting the signal (as opposed to analog). Just because you're receiving a digital signal, it doesn't mean you're picture will be in HD. I have digital cable and receive some channels in HD and some not, but they're all still sent with a digital signal.
Comcast may be feeding you a line of BS to try and sell you an upgrade. If you have cable television, you will not need a new TV, but you may need a digital box.

Been an Comcast subscriber for many years, what they are saying to you is, if you want the HD channels you have to pay a monthly fee to receive HDTV & your TV has to be an HD format. I pay $7 bucks a month to receive HDTV channels which are in our region is the higher channels on cable, ours is in the 200's.

Our total bill for the month is $117.63 which $43 bucks is for High Speed Internet, $7 bucks for HDTV & $16 bucks for Digital Service which is the box you have to have to watch any cable station. Hope this is clearer for ya!

Opps, my bad, had to leave & forgot to add the rest of the cost, will do now & thanks for the reminder Naz! Forgot to mention, we have over 30 HD channels

Cable TV:

Full Basic = $54.50
Digital Cable = $15.95
HDTV = $ 6.95
Total = $67.40 with $10.00 discount for one year ~

Internet Service: $42.95

Total for all service including Taxes, Surcharges & Fees ($7.28): $117.63

Hey Conch your numbers don't add up, are there more fees??
