Hi there! I am going to the Krystal in Puerto Vallarta. I haven't been there in a couple of years, but am planning to go next month. My issue is that I have recently developed some food intolerances. I guess I am wondering if anyone knows about menu options at the Krystal (or restaurants in the area) and if they are helpful to people who have dietary restrictions? Thanks in advance for any input or advice!

Hi, I noticed this thread as I have dietary restrictions as well. I go to Vallarta every year but I don't stay at Krystal. I am an owner at Velas Vallarta. Anyhow, I have found at my resort, that menus have adjusted somewhat to all the "changes" when it comes to eating and ingredients. And if you are not sure, ask the waiter or restaurant manager. They are usually very helpful and accommodating. I think as time goes on as well that there will be more creative offerings when it comes to food for those of us who are restricted in what we can eat. It's an extremely important issue and seems to be growing. Happy eating and I hope you have a great time on your trip.

For the past couple of years, when ordering at PV and NV restaurants, we are typically asked if anyone has any food allergies.

I had dietary restrictions and would often ask that no butter , lard , salt or oil be used on my food. The chef at Flamingos came out and talked to me and decided to char grill seafood and vegetables for me. The only items used to top this food was fresh squeezed fruit juices. One meal was lobster grilled in its own juices. The chef used a combo of lemon , lime and orange juice as a food dressing. Another great meal was mango shrimp on a bed of fine lettuce. Another was lemon garlic Dorado with mildly hot grilled peppers on a bed of fine cut cabbage and carrots.

The chef seemed excited to see me try his creations which were so tasty especially considering the limitations.

I forgot that I asked that question in October. Life gets crazy. I had a wonderful trip to Puerto Vallarta in early December, and happy to report that the resort, as well as other restaurants I went to had plenty of options for me. Was happy about that and the food, as always, is so good down there. Porto Bello in the marina has to be my favorite! Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.
