Received this one in an e-mail today:

After starting a new diet I altered my drive to work to avoid passing my favorite bakery. I accidentally drove by the bakery this morning and as I approached, there in the window were a host of goodies.

I felt this was no accident, so I prayed ... "Lord, it's up to you, if you want me to have any of those delicious goodies, create a parking place for me directly in front of the bakery." And sure enough, on the eighth time around the block, there it was! God is so Good!"

My husband's co-worker came into the office with a box of doughnuts and story much like that. She said she would stop for Krispy Kreme doughnuts if the light was on when she drove by. She said she only drove around the block 8 times..........

The dentist's office is in Sugarhouse area. I would tell my kids, ok, no more sweets.....blah blah blah.. Then I would drive down 2700 south to 7th east. Hey, Rose do you know what is on 9th East? The famous Granite Bakery.

That was many years ago.

This past week I had to go up to Sugarhouse and that bakery is still there of course and they still have the best sweet rolls, etc. etc. etc. It was a sad day because I was weak and the next day I had to buy a swimming suit for Hawaii.

Have you tried Normandie Bakers in Holladay? Haven't been there for awhile because I want to eat everything in the place. And then there is Pierre's on 33rd South next to REI (33rd East)--great bread pudding with real caramel sauce. I agree Granite is pretty good, too. Someone told me it is owned by one of the polygamist clans. Maybe you could get some cookies and eat them while watching Big Love. I don't get HBO but DH likes to watch it when he is traveling. Then again, I could be totally mislead and spreading vile and malicious gossip. :ignore:
