Depositing in Interval

Westin Lagunamar Westin Desert Willow
I have a Westin Lagunamar 2 bedroom lockoff platinum week (148,100 Staroptions) that I was unable to use this year. I missed the deadline to bank the Staroptions, so now I'm looking at depositing the week in Interval International, and I'm not sure how that works or what I can do with it in Interval. In starting the deposit process on the Interval website, it gives me the option of depositing the full 2 bedroom, or each side of the lockoff separately. Any advice on which of these options would be better?
 
Lock off to give yourself 2 trades. You will get the most out of your MF. I do this every year with my 2 bedroom Sheraton Desert Oasis, I have Gold Plus season but it is an excellent trader in Interval.
 
Definitely do the lock off and deposit each side. This way you can get two weeks from one. You may even be able to upgrade to larger units (upgrade fee applies). Since it is in VSN you have $0 exchange fees when exchanging to other Vistana or Marriott resorts.

I 100% Agree.
You want to lock it off.
You will likely be able to trade each of the individual units for a 2 br unit.
If confirmation is 60 days or more in advance, you would incur an upsize fee of $99 per step up in size
If within 59 days, there would be no upsize fee.

If not today, then very soon, set up an ongoing search request. Include the Westins and Marriotts into which you wish to exchange.
Download the Interval app, and set up Getaway alerts for the same resorts/dates. Sometimes a Getaway alert will give you a heads up that a unit is also available for exchange and is online for an instant confirmation.
Let us know when / where you would like to travel, and we may be able to provide additional advice.
Keep an eye on your email, and log in to II at least once a day in case you get a confirmation. If your confirmed resort/week is no longer what you want, you have 24 hours to CALL II to cancel and return the request to "pending status"

Thank you all for your help! I deposited the individual units separately just now. How do I go about setting up an ongoing search request? I tried searching through the Vacation Exchange tab on intervalworld.com, but that doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for. I would like to try to request a week around October 6, 2024 or 2025 in Scottsdale, or Palm Desert for my wife's birthday, or around October 31, 2024 in San Diego.
 
Call II when you have the list of resort codes and dates you want. Only put on the request the unit size resorts and dates that you will accept.
Or log on via the website go to exchange then my units, find your deposit and select the request button.

It may take a bit of time for your deposits to be reflected on the website, depending on your resort. You should have the ability to put in your request online, though.
 
The Marriotts in Palm Desert are
MDS, MPD, MRD, MR2
plus there are the two Westins

In Scottsdale, Westin Kierland is WKV, but they rarely deposit 2 br units. Most of the time the units are deposited separately as 1 br and Studio. I see October 2024 dates available online right now: (copied into the link below)

In Phoenix, the Marriott Canyon Villas MCV does deposit 2 br units.

Exchange > Vacation Exchange > My Units

Select one of the two units (to begin an online search)
Press the blue Vacation Exchange button

Search All Destinations
Enter today's date
Enter date 2 years from today
Leave Adults at 1, Children 0

See Results
go to USA: Arizona > Phoenix Area
Find the Westin Kierland resort
Scroll to October Dates
Select the larger 1 br unit (designation with a K, for full kitchen).

If you wish to confirm, press the exchange button and follow through the screens.
