I recently found out some of my family members cannot make a trip scheduled at my home resort Oceanaire/OBC at Virginia Beach next month. I was told I have the option to deposit this week (Tier 6 credit) and use it at my home resort or any other resort for up to 5 years. I am very interested in doing this but I do not want to convert my deeded week in high season at Oceanaire into a points like system. Is there a way to do this without converting my entire ownership interest for future years from a deeded week to a tier 6 credit/points like system?

The program you are referring to is called Traditional Destination Exchange (DEx). It serves as an internal exchange option for Diamond/HGV properties. Depositing into DEx is a good option for you in this case.

I have used it 6+ times or great exchanges into Point at Poipu and Cabo Azul. Last week I was in Big Sky, MT through a DEx exchange. It wasn't a fancy resort, but the location, closest to Yellowstone was great!

Depositing one deeded into Dex does not make any xhanges to your ongoing ownership. My tip to you would be to consider whether you would want to split first, before depositing. I own a 2 BR LO at Sedona Summit and can split my deposit into a Studio (Tier 3) and 1 BR (Tier 4). If I deposited the 2 BR LO without splitting I would get one Tier 5 deposit. Since you can pay a fee to upgrade one tier of about $185, I find this a good way to get an extra week vacation.

Thanks this is exactly what I needed to know and I hadn’t considered splitting my 2 BR but now I may do just that.
