To be honest, I have never really given this much thought. However, 2017 will be the first year since the DC was announced that we can get back to our typical vacation planning and utilize weeks exchanges rather than needing the flexibility of points.

Most of our exchanges don't require what I'd consider a "high" value week to complete. For that matter after so many years I don't really believe the week deposited makes a great deal of difference with I.I. So I don't really see a need but, I wonder how many MVC owners are using the DC points grids to gauge what week they'll reserve to deposit for an exchange? In the past we had used I.I. TDI to gauge demand. I don't see why MVC's points charts couldn't be used in the same way.

Doug, this is exactly what I do. I have a chart of all weeks in my season ranked by DC points required. In my case (gold season) its easy, as Thanksgiving is far and away the strongest week. I do it in case I miss Thanksgiving, which fortunately only happened once.

As to your other point, the week definitely matters, at least Thanksgiving vs remaining weeks in my season.
