Does anyone have any dental work done in Puerto Vallarta? We are going in October and understand the dentistry is very good there. Any suggestions for a dental office/dentist? Thanks
A co-worker of mine came back with porcelain veneers for a fraction of the price it would have been in the states. I tell him he's got an A-listers smile with a D-Listers face.
Is it really that much cheaper than in the US? The cheapest price I see for a crown, for instance, is about $360. Using Careington Dental (a dental discount program) contracted prices, a crown is $428 in my area.
We recommend Dr. Benjamin Vargas and/or his partner, can't rememger his name right now. They are both soooo good/compentent and both speak english, Joyce has had many opportunities to evaluate their work. They are not only dentists, but oral surgeons also. Dr. Benjamin has pulled a tooth for Joyce. His partner has made temporary crowns, replaced crowns that have come off. Both have done teeth cleaning, whitening, and filled cavities. Their ability to do work is so excellent as well as their "bedside manner." We can't recommend anyone more. Their office is located on the little side street behind the lighthouse at the marina. Email address blvalle@hotmail.com
There is also a dentist up at the marina plaza near the Soriana grocery that a lot of people use, but we have not used him, and we can't recommend anyone with better skills than Dr. Ben his partner.
I had Dr. Adrian Malja do some dental work for me last January. He was recomended by my wifes first cousin whos wife is a dental assistant that uses Adrains service. It took 4 visits for me. Our local dentists wanted anywhere from $3200.00 and up to do the procedures Adrian did for $285.00. He was booked solid so you need to get an appointment before you go. His office is in Bucerias.

usually yes it is. the reason for this is the cost of medical/dental school is cheaper as well as malpractice insurance is less. Also, as many have noticed, prescriptions as well as medical equipment is cheaper as well. Specifically referring to Radiology equipment, it is cheaper to get an MRI or CT scan in Mexico as well, with the same high quality machinery we have here in the good ol us of a. but since the economy has tanked, and the uninsured rate have climbed, you will see more discount places that can drop there prices in hopes of appealing to the masses.
I speak Spanish, and at an appointment in PV two years ago I asked my dentist there about malpractice insurance. She did not know what I was talking about. My guess is that there is No malpractice insurance, but of course I may be wrong.
