Do any of my fellow Tuggers own a lake house near Deep Creek MD? We are looking to do a couples weekend in February.

How about a Luxury B & B ?

…not sure if you are talking about a large group for this, but if you would like something very special check out the Lake Pointe Inn here:

http://deepcreekinns.com/

The inn is right on the lake (not that that matters in winter because it is drained), and amenities here are first rate. You can find cheaper, but you probably cannot find anything better or more fun. The Wisp resort is just across the road if interested in snow activities too.

Lake Pointe is a member of Select Registry, and for anyone familiar with this affiliation, it has significance. Unlike other affiliations whose members can opt to join for the price of membership, Select Registry is by invitation only. All properties are pre-screened and must meet certain requirements and standards. Membership once obtained must be maintained by passing periodic "secret shopper" evaluations.

We have used Select Registry longer than we have been timesharing; they are the antithesis of timeshare. More on them can be found here:

Thanks...this place looks fabulous. Unfortunately they dont have availability for when I want to go:wall: On the plus side they do have availability for my birthday weekend:banana:

If you do go, you will love it! We have stayed there at least 4 times over the years for our own personal 2 - 3 day get-aways, never in winter though.

If you are not familiar with the area, there is a ton of things to do. In fair weather, local hiking around the Swallow Falls trails is beautiful. There are also two Frank Lloyd Wright homes to tour nearby, Falling Water and Kentuck Knob - BOTH are worth a visit. Nemacolin Woodlands is also less than an hour away.

Bottom line, even if you are not content to just stay cozy on property, there is plenty to pursue. Hope you enjoy!

There is an II timeshare in Deep creek--Lakewood resort; very small-basically about ~13 lakefront townhouses with a nice indoor pool and some tennis courts that have seen better days on the other side of the highway. Not fancy, but comfortable.Since it is small availability tends to be limited, but if you check their website www.lakewoodresortsmd.com, they might have some rental times

We stayed at Lakewood Resort for a week in Sept. 2010 and enjoyed our stay. It was close to home and we wanted to check out the Deep Creek Lake area. There are only two TUG reviews. I had the honor of writing the first one - after convincing the TUG folks that it was not part of a resort of the same name in the mid west.
