I'm brand new to TUG so please excuse me if this topic has been covered elsewhere. My wife and I have had a timeshare [name removed] for 29years
and although we have'nt returned in many years we have been quite successful exchanging it. Since we are getting older we are concerned about leaving a 'maintenance fee' liability to our offspring.
Our investigations have lead us to a company called Timeshare Relief and we wonder if any members have experience with them or any other way of transferring a timeshare

Welcome to TUG - Timeshare Relief has a bad reputation - MORE INFO.

Have you considered just giving your TS away to someone who would like to have it? You can have the deed transferred by a professional for around $100.

If you decide you would like to give it away, you can post it here on TUG.

The resale market is bad right now, but that is a popular area and your TS may have some resale value - you should check into that. (However, since you may be selling it, you can't post that info. here, since we have a strict no-advertising rule)

Personally, I would explore all my other options before I would consider paying anyone to take my TS off my hands.

Paying Big Bux For What You Could Do Yourself For Little Or Nothing.

Keep on investigating & you will discover that companies like that mainly charge big bux for "relieving" you of your timeshare obligations, even though you can sell your timeshare yourself if it's a nice resort during an in-demand season.

If that's too much trouble, or if your timeshare is not a prime week in a top location, you can try giving it away.

To sweeten the pot, you can offer to pay closing & deed transfer costs yourself -- all for way less than what those various "relief" hornswoggles would cost you.

Click here for a nightmare scenario of timeshare bamboozles just waiting to snare the unwary -- including the "relief" rip-off.

Full Disclosure: Experience? Us? Nope -- fortunately not, thanks to all the warnings & cautionary advice we've been exposed to right here on TUG-BBS, for which we have much gratitude.
