Hi We are looking to deed back our week 7 2BR unit to Vacation Village Westin and they want proof of income hardship and I was told it would be 1200-1500 to do so. Has anyone heard of having to send financial information to them?

Have you made any effort to sell (or give away) this week?

I don't know this property, but week 7 is President's Week; I have to believe that a week 7 in Florida is surely a week in which someone would be interested. I would not paying any money and / or "prove financial hardship" for a deedback until you at least first make the effort to find a new "grantee" on your own. I am inclined to believe that you would easily find such a new "grantee" willing to pay all closing costs and any transfer fee, costing you nothing to part with your President's week in Florida. Certainly worth a try for the minimal effort (and zero cost) involved. TUG has a "Free Timeshares" forum on which you can (and definitely should) at least try. Good luck!

Big difference between Westin and Weston. Weston being a place and VV has a resort in Weston.

I agree with Theo that this could probably be given away here on TUG or RW. LT Timeshares can do the closing, and the taker would pay for it. The closing costs are very reasonable, but I am unsure what the transfer fees for VV are.
