DC is coming this year

We've discussed this in some other threads.

I think it's a great move and a lot of the growth in the industry will be in urban locations.

it'll be interesting to see if Washington DC will be an addition for all HGVC members or will it be an addition for Hilton Club - NY members.

Chicago and San Francisco are also being looked at as possible future urban destinations.

Parking at the Georgetown Embassy Suites shows as $44 a night. If it is not included with a timeshare stay, it will be most unaffordable. It is bad enough at the Wyndham National Harbor where parking is $14 a night.

There is no way I would want a car in DC.

That's like having a car in New York.

Park at the metro station and take the train in. It is usually about $5/day to park and then take the metro to the GWU station and catch a cab or walk the 5ish blocks to the location. You'll probably be taking the metro to get around DC anyway unless you want to go over to the Inner Harbor (Baltimore) for a day in which case you can connect via a train as well. You could drive but it is faster on the train and you don't have to deal with traffic or finding and paying for parking. That is what I'd suggest as a former Marylander.

There are only about 20 long term parking spots at the Metro garages and they're only at some Metro garages, not all of them. So, you might consider one of the other parking sites that has better long-term parking if you're going to be there more than a couple of nights

Miami Beach is at around $35/day.

if you want to drive in an urban destination, expect to pay to park the car.

Look into SpotHero (www.spothero.com)

One can get parking for 1/3-1/2 the normal rates, nearby. We've used it when driving into San Francisco and it works well.

Cheers.
