How hard is it to get a day pass at the Aruba Surf Club?

I am lucky enough to be going on a Disney Cruise that spends the day in Aruba so I wanted to chill out for a few hours at the Surf Club where I own. Can I just show up there and get a pool band and towels, etc or do I have to ask beforehand and get some kind of pass?

Thanks

do you have to be an owner to get a day pass at marriott's??
we are going to be going to AZ in sept and are bringing a couple with us that might be interested in seeing canyon villas in phoenix. we are not staying there but wondered if we could get a day pass, in advance. we are muliple week owners at 2 other marriott properties.

An alternative might be to spend the day at the Renaissance private island. I think you can buy a pass to the island in the hotel lobby and take their boat.

Unless something has changed, you can't get a day pass. When we tried, we were told they could not allow anyone into the pools, etc unless they were currently staying on property. We tried the same thing at Grand Ocean when we were staying at Barony Beach, and we were told the same thing.

I don't know how quickly they can police this, but that seems to be there official response. You may want to call in advance so you don't waste any time on during your cruise.

A few resorts, including Grande Ocean, do issue guest passes. However, assuming your resort issues such passes, you must be an owner at that resort to get a pass. At Grande Ocean, the security guard at the entrance gate - if he/she has time - will look up your name in the owner's database and issue the pass within a minute or so.

When we were on Kauai a few years ago and staying at the Kauai Beach Club on an exchange, we previewed Waiohai Beach Club and we were given a day pass for that resort. We changed and showered in health club. The resort was beautiful and we really enjoyed the beach at Waiohai.

Another option - right next to Surf Club on the beach is a place called (I Think) Moomba's. It is a restaurant but also rents beach lounge chairs by the day. You would be right next to Surf Club and have a nice spot on the beach.

Marriott Day Pass Success

I just wanted to report that I was able to obtain a day pass from the Aruba Surf Club.

We were there last week for one day as part of a cruise on the Disney Magic. I had sent a couple of faxes to the resort beforehand requesting a day pass, but never received a reply. When we arrived, we asked at the front desk for a pass. They referred me to the activities office which took care of the details of getting us the wrist band identifications in order to use the facilities. All I had to show was a copy of the fax that I had sent and my Marriott ownership card.

We were able to spend a few hours relaxing in the Lazy River and pools including using the beach chairs and umbrellas and were provided pool towels by the resort.

Yet another example of how Marriott takes care of their owners!!!!

That is very interesting. Marriotts's policy I believe is it is up to the resort. When I spoke with the old manager of the Surf Club he said the flow of traffic is so large that they will not approve day passes. Maybe you were very lucky.

Yes the name of the place next door is Moomba.

One can also rent chairs to the left of the Radisson by the Mi Duschi boat for the day.
