I'm not a huge Bob Dylan fan overall, but I'd have to say that Blood on the Tracks gets my vote for the best singer/songwriter album. So many classics and greats on that one, and it fit his sometimes ragged voice so well.
 
It's hard to argue with Dylan and Joni Mitchell, (Dylan was the best singer songwriter ever), but I'd take Tapestry by Carol King over both Blood on the Tracks and Blue.
