I have tracked down and read the paper. Good data. I've made a hard copy of it should I need it eventually.

Toferson is a drug used to treat genetic als. It's basically a DNA sequence that binds to rna molecules to prevent a protein from damaging nerves. Unfortunately, it only works on people with a sod1 genetic mutation who represent maybe 5 to 10 percent of als cases.

The problems with genetic disease treatment I read about are the delivery mechanisms which can deliver the right molecules to the wrong cells or just miss the target completely.

It's really interesting that they are making progress.
