After traveling and touring non-stop for 2 weeks throughout SE Asia my husband and I were ready for a rest. This resort has fulfilled that and more. We left LAX on January 1 and return home January 24. This resort is beautiful, lush and tropical. It is part of the JW Marriott Phuket. The hotel portion is in the center with the timeshare units on the outsides like parentheses. The resort property is huge! Even still neither the resort or timeshare seem near capacity. Ample sun loungers by the pools and beach. There are very few Americans and perhaps the chair hog culture originates there because we have not seen it. People seem to place towels down when ready to occupy and remove personal items when going back to their unit.
The units are all two bedroom/two bath units. After staying in upscale hotels with sleek modern decor prior to coming, these rooms look dated. Clean, but dated. The service has been outstanding! There are several restaurants at the resort and the prices have been good. Other than eating at the resort or the Anantara next door there is not much in the way of restaurants within walking distance. There are restaurant stands just outside the resort boundary near the beach. We did not eat at any of these out of concern about getting sick. They may be great but we didn’t risk it. There was no running water to them that we could see. The resort provides a shuttle back and forth to Turtle Village but the offerings there are not great. It is about a 10-20 minute drive to and from the resort to other restaurants. There is a 7 Eleven next door to the resort. They have a remarkably good selection of food.
We have used GRAB throughout SE Asia. That has worked well. I’d be happy to answer any questions.
