Current Maui nightly tax rate for 2bd @ Nanea?

Hi all!

It's been a while. I wanted to check to see if anyone has stayed at Westin Nanea recently and know what the Maui county nightly tax rate (2 bedroom) that is being charged at checkout is these days? It's been a few years since we traveled there because of Covid and wanted to check.

Currently the counties each have their own charge of 3%, which brings the total accommodation tax to 13.25%. In addition, there is a 4.17% GST on Maui and 4.712% GST elsewhere in Hawaii. The combined tax on hotels and vacation rentals is now approximately 18%.

Since there is no nightly rental rate for a traditional timeshare stay, I didn't think GET (is that GST?) applies. There is a TSO that replaces TAT for timeshare based stays. It is based on 50% of the timeshare maintenance fee for the unit you stay in.

Don't know if this helps. At WKORV-N the daily Owner Room Tax- County is $6.52, Owner Room Tax State $22.29. This is for a 2 bedroom. This is what is charged to an owner.

Should be about $26 per night for a Nanea 2br, if calculated the same way as others based on maintenance fees.

So, when you stay at WKORV-N, you're now charged $28.81/nt in taxes?

Yes - that is what we paid a couple of weeks ago for a 2BR.

Yes, for a week stay beginning 7/1. If you are in a studio OF daily Owner Room Tax - County .92, Owner Room Tax - State $3.14

Thanks. Having a 13yo daughter in AAA travel hockey takes a ridiculous amount of my time these days. Most vacations these days are tournaments in other states.
