So, my wife and I are thinking about purchasing more points and have some questions about Craigendarroch lodges and their point structures. Looking at the Cragendarroch Owners Club webpage, they list 4 different types of lodges They have virtual walkthroughs for a 3 bedroom, a 2 bedroom, a 1 bedroom and a studio. The points structure for the lodges are mostly the base points, but there is no studio listed. I know they have studios in the other portion of the resort (Craigendarroch Suites), but the virtual walkthrough they show for a studio is Lodge 47. It's a studio with a pull down bed and no dedicated bedroom. If I were to purchase one of these for a points generator, would they be 4800 points or can they not be enrolled into HGVC? Am I not understanding how the resort works? Are Craigedarroch Suites in the hotel portion of the resort? Could a lodge like this be part of the suites?

I'm pretty sure that they are worth 4800 points but was wondering if anybody knew for sure. If we head down this road, we would verify with John Pringle. I just don't want to bother him if we aren't going to pursue Craigendarroch.

OK, another question. Does Craigendarroch have a sunset clause? If so, does the new policy of not allowing club membership to resale purchases outside of HGVC after a certain period of time (can't remember the years) come into play here? There was a thread earlier that we briefly talked about it, but I can't find it.

I believe despite being a "lodge" these are in fact sold/occupied as part of the suites. For 4800 points you're going to need the 1-Bedroom Platinum.

FYI - John has been out ill for some time (since the beginning of the year) and the marketing team is "trying" to cover him, however, they are struggling between being shorthanded and the COVID situation so you're going to need some patience....

No sunset clause that I know of. (I own both)

Do not consider anything but platinum. The Lodges are stand-alone as a week, you may choose whether or not to enroll. Suites are sold as points only just like the newer properties in the US, you must pay the enrollment fee when purchased.

There are no studio Lodges, 1,2, and 3 bedroom only. Most are 2 bed.

MF's are much less on the Lodges. No ROFR on the Lodges, I'm not sure on the Suites. The are among the lowest MF's per point in the system.

Sorry I meant towards elite
Only if you purchase them via the HGVC resale agent/office. If you purchase 3rd-party, they won't.

I contacted the sales office at Craigendarroch Lodges and there are, in fact two units that are studios! Units 19 and 47 are indeed studios and come with 2200 (platinum) and 1600 (gold) points per week. These are not in the Suites section (that sales group doesn’t have resale rights to the suites), but are in the lodge portion of the resort. The person I messaged with gave me the MF’s (~£403). They are very helpful and I would not hesitate to contact that office if we decide to purchase there. She also saw the oversight with those points not being listed on the chart. Hopefully that will change.

What if you were added to the previous owners deed, pay the fee to record the deed. Then do a new transfer to remove the previous owner.
Would this be a way to retain developer points status at resale price?

It doesn't sound like this would involve an HGV authorized sales agent. So I would say no.

Then would a family member that inherited my HGVC developer bought property be able to retain developer point eligibility. Sorry kinda off topic but just curious.
