I just realized that we need to get tested again when hop from Oahu to Maui next week. After checking into the locations and costs, below is the information on what I learned:
Costco/Azova using mail-in service but no customer service; $118
Vault: mail-in service as well; $119
CVS: $139
DLS: many locations near Waikiki for walk in only or by reservation: $125
Clinical Lab/Hawaii Pacific Health: $150
S&G lab: $150
Walgreens: limited locations and not easy to find the online registration site, some said it's free, otherwise $129
If you are a Kaiser member, looks like it's free.
Hope Hawaii will lift testing requirement for inter-island travelers soon....

As far as Walgreens, the test locations can be found at https://www.walgreens.com/findcare/covid19/testing. ID NOW results are back in hours. PCR tests are also acceptable, if you have the time to wait for the result. It looks like Maui locations offer ID NOW tests, but there are only PCR test location in Oahu.

We will have to get test done in Oahu before leaving for Maui to fulfill the requirement for inter-island travelers. It's not clear to me if Walgreen charges Insurances to cover the costs. Since my insurance won't cover tests done for travel purpose, I assume that testing done at Walgreen will cost similar range...

Wouldn't count on it unless the do vaccine exemption. Maui is looking to add a second test soon.
Also, remember you can use your FSA or HSA to pay for test.

Walgreens currently does not charge for COVID tests nor does it ask for your health insurance. It really does not differentiate between travel vs. just wanting to check if one has COVID. I believe it is part of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act where HHS partners with pharmacies to make COVID testing free to everyone.

Just used Walgreens for the ID now on Wednesday. Results were back within hours. Now I’m nervous that if my plane is delayed on the second flight my COVID test won’t be valid. Fingers crossed that flights will be on time!

I read Q & A that the test is still good even if there is a flight delay which would render the test greater than 72 hours with the delay.

They never checked time. We got ours done at 76 hours. They just look at date and that it is negative. In Maui we actually had to help them work the app and also explain how the COVID recovered exemption from AG worked for one of us. They are not checking very closely. Think TSA, they are just looking for easy wrong answer: No test or invalid provider. Other than that they just want to get you out.

This is very helpful info. I’m hoping in August I don’t have to test to go to Maui from Oahu, but if so this is helpful to know where and how much!
