Courtyard in Kauai

Has anyone stayed at teh Courtyard Kauai at Coconut Beach? We just need one night at the end of our 1 week stay and this would be a good use of our MR points. Not even sure where this is but I thoguh I would ask if anyone has stayed here.

The hotel is in Kapaa. (Kind of Central location on Eastside) It's been rebranded several times, and I think Marriott had/has plans to update it this year?? We walked in the lobby last year just to check it out, and seems like a standard lower-end (meaning 2 or 3 star) hotel. We didn't get a chance to see any of the rooms, so don't know how noisy, etc. We wouldn't have a problem staying there a night or two with reward points. Pool is very small and basic. I don't believe it was on the beach, but the beaches in the area are not the best anyway. Plenty of restaurants in Kapaa. I think it's a nice addition for Marriott owners to add a cheap overnight before using their TS. Much less expensive than Kauai Marriott. Actually, it might be nice for those staying on the North Shore who have an early flight out...

It's getting good reviews on Trip Advisor.

I've been looking at this hotel as an add-on with points before my fall timeshare stay, so I can fly midweek when prices are lower. It's much easier to find in the dark on arrival night than the Sheraton in Poipu, which I've stayed at on points too.

My son stayed here last July 4th before going on to KBC. Loved it! He had platinum status so was given a great room. Enjoyed Happy Hour very much!!!

Just stayed there a couple weeks ago and it was a great property. When I booked it it was Cat 4 and now it is a 5. I am Gold so I got upgraded to an ocean view suite for the one night I was there. It is a good location not too far from the airport. Good choice if you need to add a night on at the beginning or end of a trip.
