www.cesrentals.com BBB rating is B-.
got a call from 813-381-5174 and the subsequent message was generic about my exchange system.
I called out of curiosity?

Corporate Event Services, 8875 Hidden River Parkway, STE 300, Tampa, Florida 33637-2087
Talked with Garrett?
Apparently with my Interval International Bonus weeks and getaways, he wants me to use them with a guest certificate in Corporate Event Services name.
I sent them the guest certificate and he makes money off renting that week out for certain locations for businesses.
Businesses pay $3500 usually and they can use a timeshare much cheaper than a hotel room throu CES.

Supposedly, I would get $1800 per unit. Sounds too good to be true so am reluctant to do this.
Better Business Bureau had two positive reviews and a B- rating.
That B- rating is why I am holding off plus they are out of Florida the kingdom of scams historically.

Has any one had postive dealings with this company. I put the company in the search area for TUG and nothing comes up.
thank you in advance!

This is a well known scam that has been going on for years. The key is that they contacted you. Stop any further communication.
Event planners use hotels that they book in blocks. Think about the logistics of getting individuals to book one or two getaways or the mythical 'bonus weeks' and you will quickly see that it makes no sense. And $500/night is way more than most companies are going to be willing to pay.

This is a "rinse and repeat" subject on Tug. Some unheard of company calls and waves a pile of cash in front of an owner. They can score big by renting out to strangers through the "event company." Only problem, the owner has to pay a fee upfront. Um, er, what? Would you pay a real estate broker a listing fee to sell your house? The broker has their fees taken out of the proceeds at the closing.

Tell the events guy that you want a net check after the rental. He will disappear..;)

...I put the company in the search area for TUG and nothing comes up.

Then don't do it if it is too good to be true. The reason why nothing comes up in the search area for TUG is probably this company has just resurfaced under a new name.

I don't mean to sound brash but for someone who has been on these boards for six years now, I'm surprised you're even asking about this. As Iggyearl said above, this is a "rinse and repeat" subject on TUG. At least once a week someone comes on these boards asking the same question as you and every time, it's the same pattern with the same answer. An unsolicited phone call coupled with a too-good-to-be-true offer equals a scam.

The scam company’s website was created June 2019. They created a corporate entity at the same time. However, that doesn’t make them legit. In their filing documents the listed officer is Adam Fulford with an address of 155 Figtree Run in Longwood, FL. Adam’s name is misspelled once in the filing and the address simply does not exist in Longwood (residential street but 155 doesn’t exist). Google search reveals no Adam Fulford in Longwood, FL.

I wouldn’t put too much weight in the BBB. Those reviews are certain to be fake. BBB complaints are a warning to all but most people scammed don’t file a BBB complaint.

Edited: their Tampa address is a large office building that also offers virtual offices yet they don’t list a suite number (common with scammers, because they likely don’t reside there). Also, their website has all kinds of non-sensical verbiage. The paragraph from their website below is almost comical.

“We plan to dependably surpass our money related objectives and the desires for our customers, our partners and our investors. We manufacture our HR by giving energizing chances to our own kin, and bringing on board new individuals whose aptitudes improve and grow our officially solid base. We’re focused on developing our worldwide impression together with our clients.”

As @Iggyearl points out, this is truly rinse and repeat. Not only from the posts seen here at TUG but also the way the scammers do business. They open and close companies often because eventually they are tarnished by all the complaints.

There is a company called Corporate Event Solutions out of Tampa that started a couple of years before Corporate Event Services. This could very well be the same scammers. There are some similarities. Both created corporations with a sole officer who supposedly resided in Longwood, FL, both of those individual names have no internet presence in that town, and both companies were based in Tampa. The BBB has three alerts and removed glowing reviews because they suspected that they were fake reviews. There are 30 other 1-star reviews worth reading.
