I'm in the process of converting my entire VHS library to DVD using a Sony DVR that I bought from Costco. I've had no problem converting over 40 camcorder and VHS recordings to DVD. The only one that I could not, is a VHS of the NY Yankees 1998 Championship season that was made by MLB. When I go to copy this tape it prevents me from doing so. I believe I'm in my rights to copy for my own viewing. Does anyone know of a way to copy this tape? Is ther a way to "alter" the tape so that it can copy. Thanks in advance for any guidance offered.

Regards.
Joe

One thing you might try is a Dazzle or similar brand video editing system. You hook up a cable to your VCR then to your computer and download the movie to the computer then burn it to DVD using the editing system. Not sure if it will work but it cant hurt to try.

It might be cheaper and easier to see if you can buy a DVD copy of the movie you want to copy.

Google "Macrovision" and you will find several options on how to get around the Macrovision copy protection on VHS tapes.

Well if you have a digital camcorder most of them have a "passthrough" option. you can input your vcr to your camera and output it to your computer or device.
