There is a new option for using points. Next year, as Founders VIP, I can convert 100,000 points to 48,000 Wyndham Rewards points (40,000 for non VIPs). I see online that 48,000 Rewards points should equal about $360 in hotel stays, but if used well at the higher quality Wyndham hotels, they can be worth much more. So if MFs on 100,000 points costs $600, we can convert Wyndham Rewards points and have hotel stays worth $250-$900.

I personally like the RCI option better, but the RCI upgrade option has been removed from VIPs. So the Wyndham Rewards is another good option to consider when having points that you can't use at Wyndham resorts.

Personally after using the Rewards program for about 2 years, its losing its luster for me. Many times the 15k hotels can be had at a discounted rate of $60-$80 per night. Even some of the 30k hotels can often be had for less than $150 per night. While I can see a good use of these points in some very specific situations, I'm not sure that they have a real good value overall. I'll stick with it for another year, and re-evaluate.

Thanks for posting. I don't know what they go for now, but a couple years back staying in Charleston at the Mills House, Wyndham Rewards was definitely the way to go. Cheaper than 50% off with VIPP. And nearly impossible to find... pretty sure they only throw 1 unit per week out there in the clubwyndham bucket, so they can advertise it's available.

Because of COVID, there are exceptional deals and discounts at every hotel chain this year. So using reward points is less attractive this year. I wonder if discounts will continue or if the travel industry will rebound.
