An owner in one of the Wyndham Facebook groups just posted this and I thought it might be helpful to have here on TUG.

The only thing I can add is what many other people have said. There's a lot better cards out there but this person must not be aware of them. I'm sure someone will reply to his Facebook post telling him about the better ones.

"Here is my spreadsheet on converting Club Wyndham Points. I show conversion directly to Maintenance Fees, Conversion to Wyndham Rewards Points for a Hotel Stay, and the Rebate from the Premium Barclay card. After the annual fee, my rebate rate is just under 2%, which is better than the rest of my cards.
You can see from the return on fees listed that it is not a good deal financially to convert Club Wyndham Points. You should only do that if you are going to lose those points."

My takeaway from this is that converting points to pay your MFs allows you to recoup only 33% of your costs. I have assisted several owners recoup up to 50% of their MFs by transferring their expiring Wyndham points to RCI and then into my RCI account.

Takeaway #2 is that converting to Wyndham Rewards points equals recovering 43% of your costs. This is an estimate that can vary greatly depending on where and when you redeem the Rewards points.

Takeaway #3 is that using your Wyndham credit card can give you nearly 2% back. Chase Sapphire gets you 4.5% back, so 2% isn't so special.

How does this work?

I sent you a private message about this easy process that I have used with several other owners.

It's worth pointing out that the new Wyndham Rewards Plus card only gives 4x value against MFs, not 5x and his analysis shows. The card he's using in his analysis is the legacy upcharge fee based card ($75/year) that is no longer available for net new credit card applicants. This is the currently available "Plus" card: https://cards.barclaycardus.com/banking/cards/wyndham-rewards-earner-plus-card.

Does anyone have any of the new Wyndham cards? The 8x back on gas and Hotels by Wyndham charges on the Business card is pretty attractive. I'm curious to hear if RCI charges (exchange fees, Extra Vacations, and the like) code as Wyndham charges. Also curious about Worldmark maintenance fee charges. Anyone have one of these and can offer any datapoints?

Koala is offering $7.75/1,000 for agreeing to fill booking requests that are posted on Koala's website.

IMO, this is only attractive if one has points that must be used before the end of the year. Also, some of the booking requests are for just a few days and if you have to pay $99 for a guest confirmation, that significantly reduces the $7.75 return. Still, it's better than $2.10.
