For anyone needing an easier way to rescind and cancel the contract within 5 days, you can email cancellation info to: rescission.wvr@wyn.com. it is logged right away and acts the same as if you mailed via certified mail, return receipt requested.

888-739-4016 Financial Services is where I obtained this directive.

Peace of mind now that it is cancelled.

we certainly wouldnt rely on this method unless specifically mentioned in the sales contract as a viable way to cancel.

no problem in copying your rescission letter to that email though after you mail it though!

email doesn't give you proof of sending, like a postal receipt from USPS. Email has ZERO legal standing. I know that some consider Wyndham entirely honorable, but when thousands of MY dollars are up for grabs, I want the law on MY side. Mail it and keep the receipt.

Jim makes a critical point.

The "Mailbox" rule is well-established legal doctrine and courts have been less consistent when applying that rule to emails. Primarily on the basis that there are numerous technical issues that might prevent receipt of the email (server rejection, spam software, etc), so evidence that an email was sent is - by itself - insufficient proof of notice.

So the best advice remains the same - send it certified mail. Definitely use email as a backup, but dont rely on it.
