Woodstone Meadows at Massanutten
We are considering selling our timeshare at Massanutten, Va. It is a Woodstone Meadows luxury unit, red week. It can be banked with RCI as 2 units or one. How do I determine the value and how easy is it to sell on a site such as this? Any advice is welcome.

Thanks

Chris

Currently I see a listing on ebay for $2. They are also offering a $300 cash back incentive to anyone willing to purchase it. So it appears that the value is negative $298.
Plus closing costs, so another -$500 or so, plus whatever transfer fees the resort charges.

The sad truth about timeshares. Hopefully you got many great vacations out of it. Few have real monetary value. So, be prepared to give it away. Look in our free forum to see what other people are doing. Or you can try to sell in the marketplace.

Massanutten summer weeks (and week 52 and maybe 51) that have been converted to points is probably an easy giveaway and could probably net a few hundred if you are willing to wait 6-12 months in order to find someone willing to pay.

Summer weeks that haven't been converted to points you can probably find someone willing to take as a give away but if you want that person to pay for the transfer it could take 6-12 months. If you are willing to pay the transfer and give them the current summer usage, you probably could give it away in less than 6 months.

If you don't own a summer or New Years week, expect at minimum to pay the transfer and cost of the new deed and pay MF's and give free usage for the first year and you may have luck finding a new owner. Depending on the week, you may have to do that and prepay another year's MF's or offer a cash gift when the transfer is complete.

You can list it on a site such as this or E-Bay if you want. Just don't expect there to be a lot of bids or, if there are any, bids for hundreds or thousands of dollars.

One suggested way to "determine the value" is to check E-Bay completed listings for similar TSs that you are trying to sell and see how much was paid for these. You might find the shocking truth that your TS is worth about zero dollars or, as others have already pointed out, a negative monetary value.

Whatever you do, do not pay any company an upfront fee that claims it can sell your TS for mega bucks.
