We received notification that our personal and reservation information was compromised. Was it a breach with Vacatia or RCI or both? People have received bogus emails requesting payment for existing reservations because of this issue. What exactly was compromised and what do we need to worry about?

Who notified you? That is probably where the breach happened.

Sounds like a scam, please give more details about how/what you were notified of.

There has absolutely been some kind of breach, as I have gotten scam emails for both Vacation Village at the Parkway, and this morning was a Grandview scam email which has been funny since I've actually already checked in for the reservation they are trying to scam me on.

I also received a scam email from this breach, and it came from the same email address. Note that I have already checked out of this reservation. I believe "56.5" is approximately what we paid in resort fees.

The reason I have it circled is because for the post on Facebook I was using that as an example of one way to know it was a scam. Displaying 56.5 instead of $56.50 being another example.

I am not an owner of Vacation Village resorts but our resort is with Vacatia. I received a letter from Vacatia and they said they had a security breach and personal information about resort ownership had been taken.

I have received several emails requesting me to confirm my reservation and they want a credit card number to do this.

Hi @TUGBrian @DeniseM ;and others

This thread [almost] makes me nostalgic for the "good old days" when the scammers called
your landline or cell phone - asking if you wanted to sell your timeshare or rent your weeks.

Who notified you? That is probably where the breach happened.
Vacatia sent a vague email. I asked at our resort and they confirmed there were issues. I have been getting emails from fake senders regarding our future reservations asking for a further fee that I would never answer. I called Vacatia and they don’t answer.

We received similar emails to these from an upcoming palladium resorts, all inclusive stay that we have coming up. It seems these companies aren’t doing a very good job of protecting personal information.

I agree. I would like to know exactly what information on us was compromised. We need to protect ourselves.

Makes you wonder how often they may have reservation systems and other things breached. Be curious how many have paid to escape a ransoms situation. @tricia is right they should be transparent about the breaches and what info may have been compromised. Of course, they still haven’t sent any info out to their owners explaining the significant increase in their RCI Weeks internal exchange fee.
