I'm new to TUG - Still navigating its utility. Just a heads up on a repeatable scam that continues to BOGGLE my mind as they are able to continue their masquerade w/out being flagged/shut down. They prey on vulnerability for which many time share owners would be bucketed (sadly). Look out for a firm presenting themselves as part of Leisure and Travel group (NOT BBB approved) / https://www.bbb.org/us/fl/orlando/profile/travel-agency/travel-and-leisure-group-0733-90824955/complaints. /The charade is simple - pay $499 upfront to release an RCI week and in return, you will receive $2,425. You are required to hand over your personal details (e.g., credit card)...no paperwork, no forms to complete or to be shared until AFTER you release your personal info. No, I did not fall for the trap, but admittedly, I am super perplexed how they get away with this - The folks which do the calls appear to be 1099 employees and simply follow a script - I submitted a complaint to the BB and wrote a review. Again, caveat emptor.

Welcome to TUG. Paying upfront with the promise that you will receive a larger sum later , timeshare related or not, is ALWAYS a scam. It has even happened to people looking for a job.
Many here, myself included, have received such proposition before. The name or BBB acreditation doesn't mean squat as you are unlikely to find anyone at the address provided. You may even be dealing with foreign actors.
