Combining Bonus Points and Club Points in one reservation

Hello, I was trying to book a 6 day club reservation using my bonus points first, then dipping into my club points but was unable to do this online. I had read in a recent thread that I could do this by calling in, but the person I spoke with said the only way to do this is to do two separate reservations. However, I would have a few hundred bonus points left over that I couldn't carry over. Is this correct? Should I just call back and hope for a different person? Any way to not let these points go to waste other than converting them to HHonors points?

Thanks everyone!

That is probably correct. I was told I could mix my bonus with club points, but that was for a cruise. So, booking a HGVC resort is probably different.

Make sure you don't let them expire. Is it worth it to pay 2 reservation fees? It may be if you don't want the hhonors points. Otherwise, they will convert bonus to hhonors for no charge. At least they did for me.

You can mix points for RCI but not for club reservations. I've had to pay two reservation fees and meet the three night min for when using both bonus and club point reservations

JYT makes a good point. I was in the same situation and ended up depositing my bonus points into RCI and got an extra 2 years out of them. Then, I was able to mix using bonus and club points in RCI to book a vacation.
