Resorts Owned
ocean club
Good afternoon.

We currently own timeshare and have reservation @ ocean club for 1 week in a few weeks. We would like to head down a day earlier, so we have booked a room at another Marriott property on the island. It seems now that the ocean club has room availability (on Marriott website) for same room category as we own.

Ideally, I'd like to book that 1 night at the ocean club and then be able to stay in that room for the week of our main reservation. Has anyone had luck with this in the past or any ideas how I could do this?

Thank you!

Not at Ocean Club (Aruba, Maui, or Waikoloa), but yes at another MVC location.

I've had luck with this at Los Suenos where I had put together 4 nights on 3 different reservations. In the pre-arrival email I put all the reservation numbers in the questionnaire and was told the hotel would try to accommodate. Thankfully they were.

It is very possible for you to get this done, but depends on the overall reservations during that timeframe. The view and room type must be exactly the same. You will need to request that via the room coordinator. I'd recommend via phone/email a few weeks ahead of time, and also include that info when you receive your pre-arrival email. We have been able to accomplish this several times at different resorts, but not every time.

Thanks all. It seems like this is not anything that can be guaranteed, so will likely keep existing reservation due to drastic cost differences...

It has always worked for us, but we were very careful to book exactly the same unit- view, layout etc.
I call the resort about 2 weeks or so before and let them know.
They don’t want to clean your room after a night stay so if they can keep you in place they will!

Done this several times at Surf Club matching up Abound points and exchanges but not using Marriott.com points. Also been able to open up a 2 BR without changing rooms.

We were at BeachPlace towers last week on an Encore Package and did a 2 night reservation before the Encore started and added 3 nights after the Encore ended and they had no problem keeping us in the same Villa for the 9 nights on 3 different reservations.

I've also done this many times...I've combined an Encore, Abound, legacy week, Interval trade, and marriott.com cash reservation all together at Cypress Harbour for a 27-day stay and am doing it again in March. As noted call and explain everything, and make sure you get the name of the person you spoke with.

They'd definitely prefer not to clean an additional room for your one-night stay.

Although when we were at BeachPlace the a cleaning associate knocked on our door a couple of times during our stay and asked if we needed anything…and gave us extra coffee and pods for the washing machine.

If it’s the same room type they will certainly do what they can to keep you in the same villa. It saves them a cleaning so they prefer you stay in one villa for both reservations same as you do. Just call and make them aware ahead of time.

When we have done this they have even combined it into a single reservation number. We did this once with a Marriott.com reservation and an encore.
You could keep both reservations, as you usually only need to cancel a few days ahead (confirm the date). They will tell you a few weeks before whether they can keep you in same room and then you can cancel the appropriate reservation.

The pre-arrival form that you get to via the pre-arrival email usually has a field for additional confirmation numbers. You can list them all there in addition to calling and making a villa request.
