Club Wyndham Moab - Why not WM Club Pass?

I stayed in one of the Presidential units at Moab in May. I didn't really want to stay in a Presidential unit due to the point cost, but I did because of the convenient location to Arches & Canyonlands NPs. It was a nice unit, but, IMO, not worth the extra points. (The 5 Su-Th nights in the Presidential unit cost me almost as many points as the 6 nights in WM West Yellowstone PLUS 7 nights at WM St. George combined, and those stays included Friday & Saturday nights.)

I knew when I booked it that the only Wyndham units were Presidential. I presumed that the WM units were all Presidential as well and that's why they weren't showing in Wyndham as an option to book as a Club Pass resort. I found out when I got to the resort that most, if not all, of the WM units are standard units, not Presidential. I asked the resort manager if he knew why, as a Wyndham owner, I was not able to book one of the WM units as a Club Pass resort. He said he didn't know why but took my phone number and promised to find out and let me know. He did not.

Anyone on TUG know why Wyndham owners are not able to book the WM Moab units through Club Pass? Is it because Wyndham wants Wyndham owners to fill up their expensive Presidential units instead of booking the WM units?

Not all Worldmark resorts are eligible for Club Pass. Typically the newest resorts, like Moab, aren't included for at least a year, sometimes longer, after opening, and as long as the occupancy rate stays high enough using only Worldmark owners/rentals, it'll stay that way. The Club Pass benefit is a tool to boost up resort occupancy rates for Wyndham, and if Wyndham isn't seeing high enough occupancy rates for their own Moab inventory within the Club Wyndham system, they may choose not to add the option for Worldmark Moab into the Club Pass system.

We stayed there last year over Thanksgiving shortly after we got our WM resale though Wyndham. Nice resort; just stayed in a simple 1BR. Quiet and off season then. I left a review.

Mine is in here too, but as a part of DaveNV's wonderfully complete review.

I'm looking forward to staying at the Moab resort. I was wondering what the parking situation is like for Jeep trailers. We plan on taking 4 - 5 Jeeps.

I would check the RCI website as well...I've seen the standard WM units at Moab posted there and it's MUCH cheaper than the PR units offered on the Club Wyndham site.

There is a large gravel parking lot in the NW corner of the property for trailer parking. It is very popular.

Good idea.

Thanks for that bit of very useful info.

As confirmation, Moab is listed as a Club Wyndham resort in the new Club Wyndham directory, but not as a Club Pass resort.

Wish I could have gotten the cheaper standard WM units. But this was part of a SLC, West Yellowstone, Moab, St. George, SLC circle trip, so I had to book what I could get with the coinciding check in/checkout dates. Oh well. It was a fantastic trip!
