I've often heard that using club points for a cruise is not a good value use. Anyone considering it for 2015? I'm thinking about it, but not too thrilled with a May cruise date, but I see there are others.

Using HGVC points for cruising

We have used our HGVC points for cruising several times. You get $1.00 credit for each point used. Since maintenance fees keep going up, we actually lose money on the transaction (5000 pts cost us about $900.) However, since the fees are required, we would actually rather use them on a cruise vs resort. I'm sure we probably eat enough to make up for some of the $$ lost! Right now I am having a hard time figuring out the new HGVC cruise system since the basic cruise price seems to change depending on whether you use the "2500" extra value points vs no points vs extra club points. I will need to call them to clarify! Dakotatex

You need to check prices on a regular basis. There was one time when it would have cost me the same to use my points vs. cash, but that was as far out from the cruise as possible. The prices fluctuate daily. Even what shows online is subject to change during the actual booking on the phone.
