Suggestion:

Sell your contract for a dollar on ebay.

People sink 20 grand into a car, and walk away all the time. Sell it, consider it a lesson learned, and be happy that you are FREE...

The Lawyers' Best Friend.

seeking class action lawsuit w/Wyndham
The lawyers will clean up.

The individual Wyndham owners, not so much.

So it goes, win or lose.

D&K:

I would follow the other poster's advice and sell it on e-bay if your objective to get out from under the m/f.

While I truly do understand your POV, I do however find it ironic that in your other post, where you are apparently trying to sell the timeshare, you seem to speak favorable on the benefits the timeshare has provided you.

Good luck. There is a class-action pending in California against Wyndham regarding their WorldMark product. I would say that someone will probably do the same for the Wyndham product in the future.

RE; class action lawsuit

as stated by AwayWeGo ,no one except the lawyers ,benefits from that example RCI , in fact any and all loses on their part will adventualy be paid back by all members , so no one wins anything except the lawyers !! sell it give it away just to stop paying M/F

Good advice

Eric hit the nail on the head. I think you've enjoyed your purchase in the past. You could get a lot of great tips for avoiding those fees in the future if you stick with Wyndham.

If your only point is to get out from under the fees because of your current situation then yes, sell it for a dollar. If you are lucky the buyer will pay closing costs. These days you have to pay closing costs and provide free use to get people to take over another monthly obligation. I saw another poster is throwing in $1000 to get rid of his. I just don't get that.

IMHO you've already paid $20k and if $75/month isn't taking food off the table then figure out how to make the best of it. I certainly wouldn't waste any more time with Wyndham or an attorney.

A new deed needs to be prepared and recorded in the county where the timeshare is located. Normal costs are around $300-$350 for a full service closing. You might get it done cheaply if you shop around, depending on the services you need. Wyndham also has a $100. transfer fee for points based timeshares.
