I am using the ME this trip. Usually I am driving. I am thinking to grab a taxi to the closest grocery to BWV. Any suggestions? Also, I see that there are online grocery stores but I want to buy some fresh meat. If I do that how does that work when delivered? Any comments and ideas would be appreciated.

I've had two large grocery orders delivered from WholeFoods Market this year (BWV in Jan; AKV in May). In both instances I requested delivery after my arrival so I be there to recieve the items.

However, the May trip included Resort Hopping. I identified one bag of items for Refrigerated Storage when making the handoff with Bell Services. Sure enough, when I phoned from our second location to retrieve all items from Bell Services, the bag meant for refrigeration had been properly maintained! I understand that Bell Services can do the same if items are delivered prior to your check-in.

I recommend wegoshop.com for speciality ordering such as meats, produce, and anything not just out of a box. You can specify what you're looking for, they ask if you will allow substitutions or not if they can't find the exact item and you can even specify from which store or stores you want the item bought.

If you were only looking for simple food and drink supplies (and some beer/alcohol), the Hess station next door to the Boardwalk has a large convenience store with a decent selection. It's a quick walk to the far end of the Boardwalk parking lot.

But I don't think they have things like lunchmeat.

All of the resorts have a small grocery store. I have never purchased a lot from them, but when I needed eggs, it was cheaper and faster than leaving Wilderness Lodge by car to find a store.

Ordering and having food delivered was terribly easy. You order, they deliver, and then it gets stored in cold storage until you retrieve (or ask to have sent to your room). Just be prepared to pY a higher cost than normal and have 2 "tips" since you'll be asked to tip delivery person and bellhop.

FYI - there are coupons online if you search. Saved about $5 off our order of around $100.
