I was contacted today regarding a ‘meeting’ with other HGVC owners who are dissatisfied with increasing maintenance fees & with difficulty in scheduling reservations. The caller also said there is consideration of class action due to HGVC now selling nights on travel websites, such as Expedia & Travelocity, for 50% less than what owners pay in maintenance fees. I specifically asked if caller was an exit company & she denied, stating she is affiliated with law firm looking at possible class action. Has anyone else received a similar call?!

Scam. As a suit there is no merit, even an ambulance-chaser would know better. Run. Fast.

Cheers.

No, but then I don't answer unknown calls any longer. I agree that this certainly sounds like a scam. I wouldn't attend.

"affiliated with law firm"

IOW, not working for a law firm, but rather an outfit collecting $$ for "expenses."
Run for the hills!... with one hand on your wallet.

Are you looking to rid yourself of your HGVC TS?

If an unsolicited person called you, then there is a very high probability it is a scam.

I have spoken with them and they are an Exit company partnering up with a law firm, or at least saying they are. I did not attend the meeting.

This highlights the "I'm not happy, so I gonna sue" attitude that our society seems to encourage. Unhappy = File a Lawsuit. Well, the nice TS salesperson may have failed to disclose a few things about how TS's work... When you buy a car, do they tell you the price of gas? Did you do any homework at all? Did you read the rules? HGVC has lawyers too, and you can bet they've got it covered.

Sorry, but there are no magic wands, only peep who'll dig into your wallet if you fall for it.

The complaints look very similar to suit that was filed and ultimately successful against the Manhattan Club. Wonder if its the same law firm?

I have never had that much trouble getting the days and rooms i want from HGV. Certainly not enough of an issue to merit a lawsuit.

This issue is that HGVC sales people will lie lie lie and lie some more if it helps them with a sale.

I would really wish that the HGVC sales people would be more like the DVC sales people. Not that DVC sales people dont tell a lie but not to the extent that HGVC are telling stories.
