We are considering taking our 5 1/2 yr old granddaughter to see La Nouba at Cirque du Soleil. Her mother thinks she would be interested but I don't know. Anyone have any input on whether a 5 1/2 yr old would enjoy it? I don't mind spending the $$ if she will like it but hate to spend the $$ and have her want to leave shortly after the show starts. Any feed back is appreciated. My dh and I saw O in LV last year and loved it. We are going next week to Orlando so I need to know whether to buy tickets online or not. Linda

Based on the happy sounds (laughs, oohs, etc.) of the young children who were seated behind us, I would think she would enjoy it. Some parts she might find a little boring, some amazing, some funny, some beautiful. Some of the performers are quite young (8-10, I think).

Read in the paper that the new show will be including Beatles music.... I am not sure if its just the Las Vegas show but it sure sounded interesting and probably would appeal to younger kids and such...

We took our oldest daughter when she was about 5 1/2 and our youngest when 4 1/2. They both loved it. We believe in taking our kids to as much live theater, music, and dance as possible. Cirque is a good start.

We are huge show fanatics and my kids have been to tons of them, most commonly Broadway shows.

Having said that, not one of them really like La Nouba. (Well, perhaps the youngest liked it best.) They all thought it was a bit too bizarre for their tastes. One of my children thought some of the characters were scary.

I've seen the Las Vegas Cirque on television; perhaps there is a way to download a clip of it somewhere or rent a tape and show it to your granddaugter first? It's very different than most shows.

We took our kids to their first Cirque show when our youngest was about 4 or 5. She is the one who is totally hooked and a complete Cirque fanatic. We haven't seen La Nouba, so I can't really comment on this one. (And my daughter still won't let us forget that we didn't go when we were in Orlando a few years ago.)

Someone made the comment about the new Cirque show with the Beatles music. That show is only in Las Vegas at this point. It is only one of five Cirque shows in Las Vegas (O, Mystere, Ka and Zumanity are the others).

You can go to the Cirque du Soleil website and view clips of pretty much all of their shows.

I think that La Nouba is geered a bit more toward families than some of the other Cirque performaces. There are clowns in this performance. My 9 year old daughter and her 8 year old friend were glued to the TV as they watched the DVD I purchased of it. My daughter can't wait to see it in person.

La Nouba is perfect for kids...I would take her in a heartbeat.

La Nouba at Disney

I just ordered tickets on-line for La Nouba at Disney.

I first pick a date to go. The next screen you pick a time and a price and how many tickets.

The first search I ended up in the last row of that price plan??

I hit the back arrow and did it again and it move me up (I guess it held the first 2 tickets for 10 min)

I did it 10 times and end up in the 4 row on a end seat. I didn't want to be in the first few rows. Wanted an elevated view.

Just an FYI to get better seats.

I found that when dd and I went to see Mystere in Las Vegas I did better calling to get tickets and ordering online. When I spoke to someone they were ablel to offer me seats with better viewing than what I was pulling with the online order.

This is true for most theater events--you get better seats calling the box office than ordering online. (And you get the best seats by going to the box office and buying them there, also no surcharges.) Unfortunately not all box offices sell tickets over the phone, and the hours are limited, too.
