We own Week 2 at Woodstone but exchanged through RCI into Week 51, Christmas week, so that we could have a family reunion with our ten kids and one grandson. We originally had reserved an Upper and Lower unit at the Summit thinking it would be adequate since it is supposed to sleep 12. A week before our trip I was able to snag another Lower so that we'd be able to have a bit more room to spread out. This turned out to be a brilliant move on my part because my wife and I had the Upper unit with full kitchen all to ourselves. Six girls shared one of the Lowers and the five boys shared the other. The kids range in age from 12 to 28 and the grandson is 5. We had a great time skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, hiking in Shenandoah, horseback riding, caving, and just spending time together.
Check-in on Friday afternoon was fast and easy. We were assigned 3 adjoining units in the Summit at Grenoble Woods which had a beautiful view of the mountains and ski slopes. I initially refused to do the "Owners Update Presentation" but my wife thought it would be worth it for the free ski lift tickets. We did the presentation first thing Saturday morning which included a horrible breakfast buffet. Our handler was a sweet young girl who realized early on that we were not buying anything. My wife spent most of the time pitching her own Nerium products and business opportunity.
Bottom line is they want us to trade our weeks for points. First offer was another Woodstone timeshare for $45,000. This was dropped to $35,000. Or we could just transfer to points for only $10,000. We politely refused all offers. Last ditch effort on their part was $4,495 to switch from weeks to points.
For three hours of our time we ended up with four Extended Use Ski Slope tickets valued at $304. I think it was worth it.
