I would do this, if I didn't carry so much luggage. If I could do with a small bag and go directly to Springs and then to OKW via boat, I would do it in a heartbeat. The route takes DVC stayers to various shopping areas as well. I don't know how often the bus runs. If only it would stop at Smokey Bones and Twistee Treat!

You can save money or you can save time. You can’t save both.
We always get a car, but when we stay at OKW, there are so many days that the car just sits there. We have been driving to Orlando about half of the time as well. It can be a cost-saver.

I looked on the LYNX website and couldn't find any info on if there are limits on luggage or even a place to store them on the bus. This would be a cheap way to get back to resorts if you picked up a car on arrival and didn't need it for most or all of a stay.

That's a good idea!

Considering this for my short trips, it’s the only time I fly, for example if Disney offers previews for Tiana and I am lucky enough to score one…This sort of works for long weekends and I am traveling back pack only ( thank you owners locker )

Pro- it’s guaranteed accessible transportation at a significantly low price….
Con- it’s nearly a half- mile from bus stop to DS - it doesn’t stop near the “ Disney buses “

That would not be a fun walk in the rain.

That walk above is the walk to the Disney hotel busses - lynx stops on the street
I am not good at maps. It doesn't look terribly far to the boat ramp for OKW. That is our "home."

Disney Springs is a place I do not like to go and hang out. I am not fond of shopping, and there is nothing really there for me to find that isn't at the parks.

So it’s just about half mile walk if you cut through the parking lots - to get to the boat for OKW

- for me that’s not something I can navigate on my own at this point….but if it’s good for you do whatever works.

Sans luggage, it could work, but not with luggage. Not that we didn't push luggage nearly a mile from our Airbnb in Venice to the train station, up and down bridges to go over the waterway that are all steps.

Other than food and shopping, the only other things to do at DS are the balloon ride, Planet Hollywood, Cirque du Soleil, and AMC movie theater. One "perk" of the AMC theater is they have a full restaurant for moviegoers. You reserve your seat, go to the restaurant, order your meal, they bring the food to your seat when it's ready. Personally, I prefer popcorn and a drink with my movie

We go to the AMC at West Oaks Mall because it's cheaper and not as busy. I agree about the drink and popcorn.

We head down in three days, staying at Bonnet Creek until 5/17, then Disney's Old Key West for two weeks. How hot is it in Orlando? Is the humidity high? I am concerned we will only be able to visit the parks in the evenings. Mornings for early magic hours, maybe, then leave before 11 AM.

It’s hot. When we go this time of year we do a morning / mid day break / evening strategy. It looks like it’s going to be in the mid-90’s while you’re there which is hotter than usual for this time of year.1 pm until about 4 pm will be brutal.

I have no insider knowledge but….
There is a really good chance your trip is going to coincidence with the Tiana previews.

It has been so hot here at Disney the last week. We leave on Thursday night. I don't think we will see the drone shows. We stay in at night and rest for early magic hours each morning. Tomorrow is Animal Kingdom for early opening for Disney guests.
