Is it possible to check in to an RCI exchange two days late? Of course, I plan to call the resort and RCI in advance. Has anyone done so or known of someone who has done so?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, others have done this. Pretty sure I've done it af least once. As long as you contact the resort you should have no issue.

I've not done it with an exchange, but have with an Extra Vacation...loads of times. Just call, and you'll be fine.

I just did so with a Trading Places exchange, though it was just one day late, and no problems. I called ahead, of course.

I do it a lot......never had an issue as long as you call the resort. I always do it a week before arrival and then once again the day of check in. Just to make sure the original person noted it in their system.

One time we checked in Wednesday on a Sunday-to-Sunday RCI exchange reservation. We phoned every day to let the front desk know we were running a few days late. No problem when we finally got there.

I mostly use only part of a week when using an RCI exchange. Sometimes I will call the resort on the check-in day to have them note in the reservation that I won't be arriving for a couple days after that. The last two times I did not remember to, but had no problem checking in (Wyndham Blue and HGVC Elara in Las Vegas). I told both clerks that the start date was a couple days ago on Saturday so it would be easier to find in the system. No problem.

Not sure how much of a problem it would be if I didn't arrive till 4 or 5 days into the reservation but I'd be sure to call in those instances to let them know I was still coming.

We have done this and also left early.

When you have a Wyndham reservation you really need to contract the resort because on every reservation confirmation when you click on Reservation and Cancellation Policies this is what you will find.

"For late arrivals, please notify the resort so that they may provide further check-in information. For arrivals later than 48 hours after the scheduled check-in without notification, the reservation may be canceled without notification."

I know for a fact that Bonnet Creek will cancel the reservation because it happened to a friend of mine with his renter.

Yes! We have left early at a resort but we have never check-in in late. I feel to be safe, I would call the resort and left them know there is a problem with our check in date.

Yes, we have also done both, check in late, and check out early. The only "issue" we've had has been with resorts that don't have a 24/7 front desk. If they know when you're arriving they will make arrangements for you to get the key.

RCI's website has this, which echos what people are saying here.

Not enough time for a full week vacation?

Use your Deposit Credit towards booking a week-long exchange, but just stay for a long weekend (or as much time as you can).* You can stay anytime between the check-in and check-out dates, just let the resort know when you plan to arrive!
