I guess he felt that way about places to live as well.

At least it never got built.

While I was a student at my alma mater (Washington University), they constructed this monstrosity, using money from the Mudd philanthropy.

The building isn't bad in isolation. However, it was totally out of place, as everything else on campus constructed in a classic collegiate gothic style, featuring brown granite exteriors. After a short life, it was torn down, and a much more appropriate building was constructed for the law school.

I was back at Wash U for my 50th reunion this summer, and the new building fits the campus very nicely.
 
That's very similar to a building at the Univ. of Florida.
This building fits well other historic gothic architecture.

The University of Washington campus is beautiful.
