Hello, we purchased two NCV weeks for spring break use, a couple of months ago…we are still waiting on Marriott to transfer it to our account. The previous owner was able to secure the spring weeks we wanted, however, we won’t be able to use the second week for the dates we have in 2024, so I am trying to figure out how to use it now so when it finally transfers (which should be very soon) I am ready.

How much a chance do you think I have in trading it (week 10, 110 TDI) for any Marriott/Westin in Hawaii week 8 with a TDI of 140 for 2024 if I can deposit it by the end of this month? I know ideally its best to deposit a year in advance, but this isn‘t possible for us this year. Thanks for any advice!

If you had a bigger travel window I'd say the trade was possible but seeking a week 8 for Hawaii and a 2BDRM is a tall order, especially this late in the game. Certainly no chance for Maui, maybe a small chance at this point to get Kauai or Oahu but even that will be tough. Again anytime you're seeking a high demand 2BDRM week 8, even putting in the trade at 12 months, will be a challenge, and having off-season week to trade doesn't help. I don't think you can count on this trade if this is what you want to do most years. Bottom line - Its a tough trade for a 2BDRM whale season week for a off season NCV.

I agree with moxjo7282. It is a very tall order. But what you do have is 1) a 2 bedroom trader & 2) Marriott preference. They don't deposit a lot of 2 bedrooms (Ko Olina is most likely), so that will make things tough but as soon as you get the week in your account you can put in an exchange request, then add a sightings request on the sightings board to get extra eyes on the search: https://tugbbs.com/forums/threads/sightings-requests-2023.349917/ and then start searching religiously on your own. It will be tough, because you are searching for a very specific week and a very specific location (Hawaii) and a cancelation. If I were you, I would have a good plan B in place - alternative locations, alternative resorts (but if you add non-Marriott's to your search your exchange fee will higher).

Or you can deposit and wait for an exchange for 2025. Enter an ongoing search for 2024 and 2025. You would have a great chance at 2025.
As much as I love Marriott, I am most fond of Westin Nanea for a good chance at a two bedroom. They are a definite step up from MMO, but I think MM1 is about the same quality. Enter that one in your search as well. It's still the $164 internal exchange fee.

If you’re flexible about what island/resort you get I personally think you have a decent chance of being successful in finding something with an ongoing search. Depositing a full 2br gives you a big advantage. Your best bet would likely be Marriott’s Waiohai on Kauai since they’re all dedicated 2br units, but I wouldn’t rule out getting any of the other Marriotts since people can and do deposit 2brs occasionally, and not always a year out.

Your chances of getting a Westin are slim to none as you’d need a Nanea unit to pass through preference. Since the merger VSE has been splitting up Hawaii units prior to depositing.

Thank you all for your replies. I’m still waiting for Marriott to transfer the week. Hopefully it will be soon! Tomorrow it will be two months since the deed was transferred.
l have one more question….will my two bedroom NCV week automatically trade for another two bedroom? Of course that would be what I would prefer, however, would I have a better chance if I only looked for one bedrooms…is that even possible?
Thanks so much for your help! We have never traded into another resort with our platinum NCV week that we have had for 18 years…always go to NCV. So I don’t know how the exchanging and requesting works with interval. And now with two new gold weeks for spring break, I thought instead of trading for the week 8 at NCV, it’d be fun to try to go to hawaii first, then to NCV for week9 that we have secured, since we cannot travel week 10 this next year.
I appreciate your suggestions.

Marriott is taking 45-60 business days to transfer from the date they receive the paperwork. I am still waiting on one they received on 4/12 to transfer to my account.

When you enter your ongoing search for a trade you can select the size unit you are willing to accept. To go up a size say from a 2BR to a 3BR there is a $99 fee that you pay if you match to a larger unit. No fee or anything to go down from a 2BR to a 1BR.

Wow, you are still waiting for a 4/12 deed to transfer? Uggg. Mine were deeded 4/26 and 5/1. Is it the individual resort that does the transfer or Marriott Vacation Club?

Marriott Vacation Club handle all the Deed transfers and the best I can figure is that it is currently taking 10 to 12 weeks for the transfer process to be completed at the current time.

As of 6/20 they were processing deeds dated 4/5. So I am hoping my 4/12 deed transfers by the end of this week. Fingers crossed. 7/7 would be the full 60 business days for me.

WOO HOO! I guess my hopes finally came through! Just got the email from Owner Modifications that my transfer has been completed.

Started the purchase on this one on 2/28- so it took 4 full months.

Marriott received the paperwork on 4/12- so 52/53 business days (not sure if they count Juneteenth as a business day or not.)
