Anyone know anything about timeshare resales through Century 21 or one of their affiliates?

We Came This Close To Buying Our 1st (Resale) Timeshare From Them.

In 2002, on a timeshare-promotional Florida vacation in Orlando & Ft. Lauderdale, we were in the rental car on the way back to our dinky motel after a spectacular tour of a wonderful Orlando timeshare resort when we spied a big Century-21 billboard that opened our eyes, instantly, to the reality that "used" (resale) timeshares are exactly the same thing as "new" (full-freight developer-price) timeshares.

That got us to thinking: If we could own 1 of those spacious & luxurious timeshare condos for a few hundred dollars instead of several thousand dollars, with everything else the same (annual costs & usage), then we sure ought to look into that.

The toll-free number was easy to remember, so we called it when we got home. The person who answered put us on to a 2BR Orlando week at Isle Of Bali (later renamed Ron Jon, & then renamed again Liki Tiki Village). Everything about it sounded great & we were this close to buying it. What held us up, & then turned us off so much that we let it go, was the Century-21 person's unwillingness to offer us anything else other than that 2BR Isle Of Bali Ron Jon Liki Tiki week. Surely, we figured, there should be lots & lots of used Orlando timeshares out there. Why wouldn't Century-21 tell us about'm or show us a list so we could take our pick? Shucks, we've bought fee-simple real estate from Century-21 brokers in other parts of the country who showed us lists & took us to several available properties they thought we might like well enough to buy.

Before we figured out what to do next, we discovered TUG. A TUG contact guided us to an outstanding Orlando 3BR lock-off floating week for about $3,000 less than Century-21 wanted for their 2BR Isle Of Bali Ron Jon Liki Tiki week. So we bought the floating 3BR lock-off & the rest is history.

Even though we never bought a Century-21 timeshare, we are grateful to them & their Orlando billboard for getting us into timeshares via resales.

I purchased my resale week from them back in 2000!!! Easy & Quick transaction....no problems!

Century 21 is just a franchise. This means that the century 21 in "Fall City" may be a great place to sell your TS but the Century 21 in "Port Charles" may be a rip off. There are many TS resellers who are associated with big reality companies like ERA or GMAC or Century 21. These companies are all independant and some may be good companies to due business with and some may just want your cash.

Just remember "never pay an "up front" fee to sell your TS!!"

Good Luck

Yes, I had good service

:) Yes, way back in 1999, I purchased a 2 bedroom timeshare in the
Caribbean from Century 21 TRI timeshares located in West Virgina.
My salesperson at that time was Cheryl LaFontaine, and she was very
professional. I certainly recommend her.

As a previous Tugger has mentioned, all the Century 21 offices are franchasized....so I can only speak about the one I used. At that time,
they sold many timeshares by Auction; and the prices were excellent.

I believe they still sell timeshares by auction; but the prices have gone up.

Good luck,
Patricia
