The higher the number the better the picture quality. VGA ia almost unusable - 1.3 isn't that much better.
By the way Consumer Reports rates the Palm Treo 700p the best all around PDA/Phone/MP3/web/email device. Even better than the iPhone and Blackberry. Remember it's the 700p (Palm OS) NOT the 700w (Windows based - not good) that is the best. Having used the 650 & 700 Treo I have to agree they cannot be beat for versatility, reliability and functionality. Plus not having to use AT&T as the service provider is a real plus the iPhone doesn't offer.
Agreed that 640x480 is pretty much unusable. But the 1.3 Mpixel camera is probably 1280x1024. Not state of the art by any means, but not bad for a cell phone camera. It would make acceptable 3x5 or even 4x6 prints if you didn't try to crop the image.

Actually, this will be my 1st camera phone. I am just fine w/ my old reliable cell. But my wife insists we get camera phones. Our 2-year plan is up, so for $9.99, I figure;why not. It's a Motorola RAZR V3m. Believe me, I don't need state-of-the-art. I recently sent my very 1st text. lol
