Hi all,

My kids are looking at booking an Interval Getaway week for a June trip at Celebrity Resorts at Lake Buena Vista. How is this place (1 bedroom)? Has it been updated recently? If so, have all units been updated?

They are also looking at a Wyndham Palms one bedroom.

Which one would be a good choice? Or would either be a good choice? I've stayed in a 2 bedroom at Wyndham and it was nice. But I know nothing about the one bedrooms.

They don't know if they should wait on some of the Marriotts to come up. They are looking at June 22/23 through June 30th. I don't know if any Getaway weeks will come up for the Marriotts or not that late in June.

Thanks for any help.

Is it the one bedroom that sleeps 2-4 or the 4-4. The 4-4 has a full kitchen and the 2-4 just has a mini fridge, wet bar and a microwave. I would never take the 2-4. These are the two parts of a lockoff from the 3 bedroom. In the smaller area they designate one of the bedrooms as a sitting room with the mini fridge, wet bar and microwave. The big side has a large jacuzzi tub, that the smaller side lacks.

We used to own at this resort, but have not been there in at least 5 years. IMO, unloading this resort was one of our best timeshare moves.

A Celebrity owner e-mailed me some photos of the redone rooms and I thought it looked quite nice. Our daughter is staying here in June with her husband and some friends in a three bedroom. It's on Palm Parkway so we thought that would be a good central location for Downtown Disney and doing the parks. I got them one night at Disney's Boardwalk-Boardwalk view on our DVC points before they check into Celebrity. Just because my son-in-law LOVES the Epcot area of resorts. But didn't have enough points left in my use year to book a full week at Disney. So we'll have them try out Celebrity and give us a report with pictures when they get back.

Somebody also posted a recent review on trip advisor of Celebrity LBV with some good photos. It looked nice.

I think it was a good move for the following reasons.

1. We were not thrilled when the management went from Resort World to Clarion.
2. The last time we were there, the units were not what we remembered, no activities director, etc.
3. Service at the resort was not what we wanted. We only got information when we got our MF bill. The resort was not being kept us as we thought it should have been.
4. On site amenities were very limited, and the use of the amemities at Star Island had been lost.
5. Celebrity Resorts is trying to push everyone into points by using an outside group and scare tactics. See other threads on this BBS.
6. Even though I thought it had gone down a lot, I still got a good (not great) price for the sale.
