I was surprised that the Castle series was ended and I'm even more confused by the ending scene. How did Becket figure out Mason was LokSat? Wasn't there a DNA test to confirm the burnt body in the trunk was Caleb? He shows up later alive? Did they really die or was the 'happy' ending just a writers dying dream rather than reality. Maybe someone with more insight than I can explain.

For a moment I thought it was ending with them both dead, so I liked the 'flash forward' happy ending.
Gonna miss Castle.

I had heard that they fired Stana Katic but that the others had signed on for another season so I was surprised that the show was cancelled. I didn't watch much for the last couple of years because the show had gotten too ridiculous. But I used to watch faithfully.

I was ready to stop watching after this season. I had gotten really tired of Castle's character. So, even if this hadn't been the end it was coming off my "record" list.

ranks right up there as one of the lamest endings ever. The loksat conclusion was poorly written, and the ending was a "feel-good" afterthought that was trite and obviously tacked on at the last minute with the voice-over.

I've liked this series, but the writing went downhill this last year or two, and am glad it's ending rather than limping along without the major character Kate Beckett. (Who made the show, IMHO, as a smart and funny lead. )

Who knew she had problems working with Nathan Fillion?? In hindsight, it was clear this last year they kept the two characters apart for a reason :ignore:

I wish I could regain the waste of time watching that finale. :crash:

While this was a less than great finale it beats the hell out of Seinfeld or HIMYM.

At least they tried to wrap things up. Many shows that are abruptly cancelled either don't get a chance, or don't bother to do this. I'm concerned with the cancellation of "Nashville". It's supposed to have it's final show air on May 25. I'm not even sure that was supposed to be the season finale. But there are too many things hanging in the air to give it any kind of satisfactory end.

As much as I liked this show, I feel that it's shelf life was ending. Had it gone beyond this season (especially without SK), it would have, IMHO, "jumped the shark".

As for the ending, I guess the writers didn't have adequate time to write a sensible series-ending episode as the fate of the show was still in the air in the middle of the season. Some will argue, however, that the producers and writers should have seen the tell-tale signs and read the writing on the wall.
