If you are interested in what really happened with the Carnival Splendor when it lost its power, and how they responded, not only to the power problems, but all the various logistics of taking care of the passengers those four days, have I got a place for you to read about it!
John Heald, the cruise director, maintains a blog, here. He didn't write during the worst of it, no power, no time, of course. Now that he's off the ship he's writing it bit by bit. He's up to five parts now, and it is very interesting.
You need to understand about John Heald before you read it. He's an irreverent Englishman, and he writes things like "rumpy pumpy" to mean sex, and when he finally got a shower, he said he was finally clean, "incluing his dangly bits." That's his sort of humor. His blog is read by millions of readers, believe it or not. If you want to start at the beginning of the Splendor saga, go to the bottom of the first page of the blog, and click "Next Page" so you can start with Part 1. It is an interesting read. I was very impressed by it. Oh, and he doesn't need Carnival approval for what he writes, either.
