Help!! Iam very undecided.
Your opinions please about the Destiny ship.

Would be a group trip for 5 nights leaving from Miami.
Have read some not too good reviews on the rooms, & also the food.
Iam way too fussy, being spoiled by staying in near perfect T/S for years.
The food we can certainly cope with as we hear there is much much choice.
Have never been on a cruise.
It is a balcony room we would choose.
Where else can we find more opinions than in this one spot?
Thanks
Marie

There is a ton of information and reviews about cruises. There are also message boards where you can get lots of info.

I have been on several cruises, one on the Destiny. I enjoyed it very much. However, a cruise is a different kind of vacation than a timeshare, so it would be good to do some reading.

We are taking our kids on their first cruise this spring. They have never cruised before, so we are starting with just a 5-day.

Good luck!

We are going on our second group cruise at the end of Feb. and it is on Carnival this time. It will be our fifth cruise and the second on Carnival (Inspiration and soon the Legend). The other three are NCL and Princess; our first was the Big Red Boat which was bought out by someone else. I have found the food to be really good on all, but there is some problems with getting into the restaurants on NCL without reservations.
All the rooms on a liner are going to be smaller than a hotel room, so don't expect something grand. A balcony room would be nice...once, and they seem to have more room than the interior rooms. But let's face it. you will probably only be in it to shower, change clothes and sleep. You can't see much over the ocean in the dark. And you can get your fill of the stars up on deck. At least that is MHO, others may have their own.

I have been on 5 cruise (Disney, Carnival and RC) and my personal feelings about a balcony room are as follows:

I don't see the use for a balcony unless you are taking a 7 day or more cruise. I never used it except on the days at sea.

The food is ok, but nothing to write home about.

The rooms are bigger, to me, on RC and Disney has the largest rooms.

definitely check out cruise critic.

Also know that if you go expecting a vacation like you get when you visit a fabulous timeshare, you might be setting yourself up for disappointment.

I have never done Carnival, actually have done a cruise since OJ was on his murder trial! So good grief how long is that?

I have a friend on the Victory Carnival cruise right now, of course she's loving it as we had about 12" of snow right after she left.

This is her first Carnival cruise, so I'll see what info I can get from her to pass on when I see her next week.

I'm really starting to think about another cruise lately, just wish the RCI voucher thing I have hanging around my mail mess was something worth while. I never opened it to see what they were selling, but have had a number of calls sitting on my answering machine telling me how great it would be from RCI.

With fridged temps and another storm coming in Friday, I only wish I was floating out in the Carribean, oh well have to be home for game day on Sunday! To wtach on TV, not to be at the game with temps maybe in the mid teens at best!

Just another person urging you to check out cruisecritic

Not trying to be a wise - - -, but, isn't that what you are looking for? Weigh the pros and cons. If you want good reviews go to Carnivals' web site.
