A few years ago, we were the recipients of a free week here on TUG. Since we own more weeks than we can use, I am going to pay it forward by giving away our mid summer week at Carlsbad Seapointe in beautiful Carlsbad, CA.

Week and unit owned: Week 32 (usually the second week of August), every other ODD year, 1 bedroom "B" unit
Maintenance fees (2023 $711, 2024 $854) - Maintenance fees are billed half every year, due Jan 1
2024 maintenance fees have been paid and I am not asking for reimbursement.
Buyer to pay transfer costs of approximately $450 (confirmed with the transfer department).
Note: This week is not affiliated with the HGVC program.
As an owner you can request a room that will guarantee an ocean view. The B units are the largest one bedrooms, and both the living rooms and bedrooms face the ocean - unlike the smaller units where the bedroom faces the back of the resort. The resort is nearing completion of a significant renovation and the upgrades are fantastic. Carlsbad Seapointe has two pools/hot tubs - one with views of the ocean, and another that is set up perfectly for kids, with an adjacent kid-friendly water feature and small putt-putt course. All guests have access to free beach gear including wagons, beach toys, beach chairs and umbrellas. There are onsite tennis/pickleball courts, a basketball court, sand volleyball, an arcade, corn hole, fire pits, BBQ's and a gym. Owners have free day use access to all amenities.
The location can't be beat. It is located within walking distance to North Ponto Beach, a delightful local beach in Carlsbad. It is perfect for the kids, or perfect for a long walk. Carlsbad Village is nearby with a lot of great dining choices. Legoland is a short drive from Seapointe, as are the Carlsbad Premium Outlets. Disneyland is about an hour north of Seapointe, and all of the attractions of San Diego such as the zoo and Petco Park are about a 30 minute drive south (depending on traffic it could be a longer drive).
This unit trades in RCI (current value is 40 tpus). That said, one of the best things about owning is having access to GPX, the in-house exchange program for the Grand Pacific Properties. New inventory is loaded in bulk on the first of the month, so it is pretty easy to be successful in trading, especially into the properties in Hawaii. Additionally, you will be able to access the "insider" rental weeks, available to everyone for a great discount. You can see the inventory without logging in at https://www.gpxvacations.com/
